I’m back (although jetlagged…😅), pumpkin spice is back, and fall is here! 🍂
Sucrerie will reopen Friday, November 6 at noon PST through Sunday, November 8 at noon PST!
I need a few more days to continue getting replacements and remaining orders out, so I’m easing back in with a shorter ordering window to keep things manageable for this first week. After being closed for two weeks, I want to be thoughtful about how much new work I take on while continuing to get outstanding orders shipped and remaining shipping issues resolved. Depending on order volume, I may close early on Saturday, November 7 for this round.
The plan is to return to our regular Wednesday-Sunday ordering cycle the following week: November 11 at noon PST through November 15 at noon PST, and then weekly after that. So if I do need to close early this week, you’ll have another opportunity to order shortly afterward!
I also want to say a heartfelt thank you for everyone’s patience and kindness throughout these shipping issues. It has definitely been stressful, and your understanding, encouraging messages, and willingness to give me time to work through things have meant so much. The number of outstanding packages continues to decrease as orders arrive and replacements go out, which has been a reassuring step in the right direction.
I know some of you have waited much longer than expected, and I don’t take your patience for granted. Thank you for giving this one-person shop the time and kindness to keep making progress. 💛
More Shipping Options
UPS will now be available at checkout alongside USPS, so you’re welcome to choose whichever carrier you prefer! After the recent shipping issues, I know some of you would appreciate having another option, and I’m happy to make that available.
I'll also need to adjust US shipping rates starting December 1. I’ve kept US shipping at $5.50 for the past two years and have been covering the difference as carrier rates have increased. USPS has had multiple increases each year, and packages that once cost around $5 to send can now cost closer to $7-$9, even with my business discount. Depending on the destination and package, UPS can sometimes be the less expensive option!
The tricky part is that there isn’t one flat rate that works well for everyone anymore. Costs vary depending on location, package weight, and carrier. Raising the flat rate enough to cover the more expensive shipments would mean many customers paying more than their own package actually costs to send, and that doesn’t feel like the best approach either.
Instead, calculated shipping will let your rate reflect the actual cost of your shipment. You’ll be able to compare the available USPS and UPS options at checkout and choose what works best for you in terms of cost and estimated delivery time.
Throughout November, US customers can continue selecting $5.50 flat-rate shipping with either USPS or UPS. Calculated-rate options are also visible at checkout now, but the flat-rate options will remain available through November 30.
Beginning December 1, US shipping rates will be calculated at checkout based on your destination, package weight, and chosen carrier.
Existing international shipping options will continue at their current rates, with UPS also available as an additional option. Please compare the rates and estimated delivery times at checkout. International orders may be subject to destination-country import duties and taxes, and UPS shipments may also carry brokerage or handling fees. Any applicable charges are the customer’s responsibility.
I know shipping costs are part of deciding whether to place an order, especially when you’re just picking up a few samples. My hope is that offering both carriers and charging based on your individual package will keep things as fair and flexible as possible.
Brand Updates
Two New Brands Coming This Month!
A little exciting news: two new brands will be joining Sucrerie this month! I’m wrapping up the final details, so keep an eye out for those announcements soon. I’m excited to share even more indie scents for you to explore!
Lovesick Witchery & Siren Alchemy Are Here
Lovesick Witchery and Siren Alchemy were both recently added, and their entire catalogs are available to sample! If you’ve been curious about either brand or have a growing list of scents you’ve wanted to try, there’s plenty to explore.
Pierrot Perfumery & Dreamfyre Apothecary
I’m so sad to see Pierrot and Dreamfyre close their shops. I wish both of them all the best, and I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that they return someday. 💛
For anyone wondering what their closures mean for samples at Sucrerie, I was fortunately able to stock up a little beforehand, so I do still have some inventory available. If a listing is available to purchase, I still have that scent in stock. If it’s marked out of stock or the listing disappears entirely, that scent is sold out, and I don’t expect to restock it.
If you’re hoping for a larger 5-10 ml decant from either brand, please email me at info@sucreriedecants.com or use the contact form with the scent and size you’re interested in. I’ll let you know what I can accommodate based on the remaining inventory.
Normally, I keep sample sizes small to encourage purchasing larger sizes directly from the brands. With these shops closed, though, I know that’s no longer an option, and I’m glad to help where I can so you can enjoy a little more of the scents you love.
Thank you again for your patience and continued support. I’m looking forward to getting back into the rhythm of things!
With love,
Anna
