A Quick Update on Processing Times
I wanted to get a little bit personal and share a small but important update about my current processing times: as much as I try to keep things moving quickly, my turnaround time has been landing at about a week lately and will most likely stay that way for now. It’s a little longer than I want it to be, and honestly a little frustrating, because I would love nothing more than to get orders out faster even as order volume continues to grow.
Sucrerie is still a side project for me (one that I care about deeply), but it exists alongside a full-time job and little kids who seem to catch every winter bug imaginable. Lately, it’s been a delicate balancing act involving tissues, fevers, and urgent care visits. By the time the house finally quiets down, I’m usually starting my "second shift" of decanting/labeling/packing to do my best to honor the quick turnaround I always hoped to maintain.
At this point, I’ve realized that even with all the late nights (it's currently past 3am as I write this...) and long days, I can’t move as quickly as I wish I could and I have to face the fact that the pace I've been trying to keep just isn't sustainable. So as of now, I need to officially say that my TAT will be around one week.
If that timing doesn’t work for you, please feel free to email me - I’m more than happy to help cancel any order placed prior to today and provide a full refund. I want everyone to feel comfortable with their purchase, and I completely understand if the wait isn’t ideal. For those who are able to stick around, your patience and kindness mean so much to me. Truly.
I understand there may be some questions around why a small order may still take time to ship - I process everything in the order it was placed to keep things fair. Sometimes a one- or two-item order may be behind a stack of orders with 15, 20 (or more!) samples. When I have a little extra time, I do try to pull those orders forward, but it's never a guarantee. I never want anyone to feel overlooked - it’s simply the reality of needing to work through the queue in sequence so every order is treated equally.
Thinking Forward
I’ve also been doing a lot of thinking about how I can make things more sustainable moving forward. I'm not at a point where I can focus all my time on Sucrerie 100%, and it's important to me that every order is packed with attention and care whether it's 1 or 10 samples. I might need to temporarily turn off ordering here and there so I can catch up, or possibly only opening the shop on certain days to keep volume manageable. I'm still exploring what those might look like.
I’m also aware that a very obvious way to make this easier would be to reduce the number of container options I offer but I'll be honest, I'm hesitant to do that. I know how much the freedom to choose your preferred format impacts the sampling experience so for now, I'm keeping all the container options, even if it means working a little harder behind the scenes. I want the experience to feel personal and intentional, not limited by convenience.
I’m still learning. I’m still finding my balance. But I’m committed to doing this in a way that honors both my life and this little shop that I care about so deeply. Thank you for reading, for supporting this little project, and for being patient with me as I find a way to grow without losing the things that make it special. Your support truly keeps me going.
